A Little Progress On The Shawl

It has been difficult to work on this shawl, by the time I get home from the hospital at night I'm generally too tired to concentrate. But there has been some progress, it's about 10 inches now and I would like it to grow to 72 inches.

It is a pretty pattern though and the yarn is super soft. It will be nice and warm around my shoulders.

Today was difficult for me. My neighbour had her surgery today and she has no family in T-Dot. Fortunately both of them are in the same hospital so I was able to split my time between E. and my Mom. My Mom did get a new roomate today, the roomate from hell. She began her tirade against us the moment she was wheeled into the room by calling us F..k..g Krauts and just got progressively worse. At one point she pitched her dinner tray in my direction and I reported that to the nurses. Hopefully they can calm her down before tomorrow or I might just loose my calm.

We are still waiting on the pacemaker and today I heard it might not happen. Why asked I? Is it because of my Mom's age? Are the limited resources in the hospital for younger people? What's the issue? I don't know but I'm sure going to find out.

The Latest Pictures of Elliotte (Ellie) Rositta Anne

Big Brother number one is Justin

Big Brother number two is Bradyn

Big Brother numer three is Cassidy

And this is the little girl they will be protecting. These are the newest pictures of little Ellie and according to the offspring she fits 3 month size clothes. No newborn stuff for her. She's looking a little more relaxed today now that the trauma of being born is over.

Some Stuff To Show

A blogger friend made me realize today that I have not blogged recently. I think it was a decision between blogging or sleeping and guess what, sleeping won out.

These are the socks I started the day I took Mom to hospital, April 4th so not much progress really. When I'm at the hospital now I generally don't have time to knit. Now I spend my time talking with her to try and get her memory back and pull her out of her dark place. I think I am being successful since there is a great deal of improvement. Right now, it's two steps forward and one step back.

There has been much happening in the world that has caught my attention and that I have wanted to write about, but my attention span is too short right now. My main focus this week is to get our bookkeeping finished for the accountant tomorrow. After that things will settle down. The grandkids have headed back to Calgary so I'm on my own with Mom. I go twice a day, lunch and supper to the hospital and it seems to work for now. The plan is for her to go to a rehab hospital and then I will visit evenings. I hope this all works out for us.

I also committed myself to a little project for a fellow blogger in Arizona. Kelli is going to Africa in May and looking for little gift packages for the orphanage she goes to. So today I did a little shopping and am going to try to get these out on the mail in the next couple of days. It is a good thing to do. I just have one small problem actually, since we operate in metric up here in Canada I am not sure of the size of a one quart zip lock bag, anybody?

Personality Quiz

I have a free evening thanks to my two grandsons, who are doing hospital duty and I truly need the rest. On Saturday I started having arrhythmia myself and my heart rate jumped to 160. My Mom's nurse actually suggested I head down to the emergency department but I declined. Things settled down a bit and I suspect I'm just stressed and anxious.

So, I found this personality quiz on my offsprings blog and decided to do it. Fits me to a tee as does his over at TBlog. While your there check out T's tummy, it looks like it will be triplets! I hope those baby clothes I knit will fit.

I almost finished one sock the night I spent in emergency and will photograph and post it tomorrow. I have to charge the batteries for the camera first. Just one of those things that got forgotten, oh well, at least I remembered to charge the cell phone.

Ready To Send - Now Where's That Baby?

I have been working on some baby stuff but it has taken longer than usual to finish. I have had to rip back a few times but finally it is ready to go.

The whole outfit looks a little big, it's definitely not newborn. It will work well for the fall when it's a little cooler out. My offspring tells me they expect at least a 9 pound baby. Well, any day now we will know.
