Attention Deficit Disorder - For Sure

Why, why, oh why do I do this to myself? Not enough to do in my life, not enough projects on the go? Beats me, but I did really order this stuff and it came in the post today. It's 400 grams of superwash wool and obviously very bare. There are some jars of acid dye and one sheet of weird instructions.

Now, if there is anyone out there who can tell me how to dye this in the washing machine without tangling up the yarn I would be incredibly grateful.

One the scale of 1 - 10 of the most foolish things I am about to attempt, this one rates right at the top, I mean give me a break, there are a lot of nice colored yarns to buy without having to do this, aren't there?

Hehe! I'm glad it's you and not me. I've only tried dying in the microwave and that was just once and not again. Too much cleanup! Course I'm a very lazy person so don't go by what I do.

Oooh, but the "foolish" advetures are always the most memorable and fun in my book. Besides, once you get the hang of it there is no more searching LYS to LYS looking for that perfect color of yarn....you can make yer own!

Thanks for being the first to comment. I am sure I will be spending too much time on that link trying to get serious and learn-ed about this blogging thing. ;)

I have dyed yarn myself, but I haven't tried crockpot dyeing yet. I have used Cushings dye in a large pot on the stove.

I have two skeins of Knitpicks sock yarn that I wish to dye. Perhaps I'll try the crockpot dyeing method.I'll be interested to see what you do with your sock yarn.

Won't be doing any dyeing for a little while, I'm too preoccupied with my Mom's caregiving at the moment.
