Some Stuff To Show

A blogger friend made me realize today that I have not blogged recently. I think it was a decision between blogging or sleeping and guess what, sleeping won out.

These are the socks I started the day I took Mom to hospital, April 4th so not much progress really. When I'm at the hospital now I generally don't have time to knit. Now I spend my time talking with her to try and get her memory back and pull her out of her dark place. I think I am being successful since there is a great deal of improvement. Right now, it's two steps forward and one step back.

There has been much happening in the world that has caught my attention and that I have wanted to write about, but my attention span is too short right now. My main focus this week is to get our bookkeeping finished for the accountant tomorrow. After that things will settle down. The grandkids have headed back to Calgary so I'm on my own with Mom. I go twice a day, lunch and supper to the hospital and it seems to work for now. The plan is for her to go to a rehab hospital and then I will visit evenings. I hope this all works out for us.

I also committed myself to a little project for a fellow blogger in Arizona. Kelli is going to Africa in May and looking for little gift packages for the orphanage she goes to. So today I did a little shopping and am going to try to get these out on the mail in the next couple of days. It is a good thing to do. I just have one small problem actually, since we operate in metric up here in Canada I am not sure of the size of a one quart zip lock bag, anybody?

Glad to hear that things are going a little better. Love your sock. Very springlike. Quarts hmm, bigger than a sandwich bag, smaller than a large gallon bag about a liter in liquid form. Does that help? How nice that you still have the energy to think of someone else. Too bad more people aren't like you Rositta!

Hi there and thanks for stopping in on my blog! Great to hear from new friends. Love your socks - I think I have that same Knit Picks yarn in my collection waiting (and waiting, and waiting...) to be knit up!
I just started skimming your blog but glad to hear your are having progress with your Mom!

Thanks to those who emailed me, one quart zip lock is about 7 x 8 inches. Can't get much into a bag that size though.
