An Amazing Surprise
Some time ago I entered a fellow bloggers contest and won. Not that I had to do anything mind you, it was a computer generated win, but hey, a win is a win. The prize was one or two skeins of Angora I believe and she was giving them away because she is allergic to that type of yarn. The poor young woman first put the package in the mail and it was returned to her. You see, I live in Canada and Americans need to do a customs form to send stuff abroad. On her second try, the package somehow went astray and is probably lying somewhere lonely in the bottom bowels of Canada Post never to see the light of day again.
I told Helena not to worry about it, just the idea that I had actually won something was good enough, I didn't want her to go to any more expense on my behalf. But she wasn't having any of it, a contest won means you get a prize.
Today when I returned from the hospital where I had been severely berated by both the head nurse and the physio people for "being too intense" I found this on my doorstep.
As you can see there is more than a skein of Angora here. There is some gorgeous yarn for socks, a book I will thoroughly enjoy, three bars of wonderful natural soap, lots of stitch markers and a personal card.
I am overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of this friend, who I have never met, who made me cry and smile at the same time. This is the second time that I have received something kind from a fellow blogger.
I wonder if Helena will still like me when she finds out I booed the New Jersey Nets last night and cheered big time for the Raptors (that's basketball) and have every intention of doing the same on Friday night. Go Raptors Go, and thank you Helena.

Lovely yarn and I have heard that book is a good read. Aren't people nice sometimes, just when you need it.
There are some amazing people in the world, blogging allows you to meet so many of them..:) Now I want to think of something nice to do for her...ciao
How nice of your friend to send you all that stuff! Wonder where the other packet went...
I look forward to see what you will make of the pretty yarn! Have a nice weekend, Rositta! Hope your mom is OK...
what a fantastic package!! Isn't it amazing when other bloggers send you something just at the right time? Hope your mom is doing well.
It was amazing package to receive. The yarn needs a special pattern for socks though, when my mind is more clear I will look for one.
