Waste Not, Want Not

I'm kind of between projects right now, except of course of my shawl. It has been relegated to the unfinished basket for the time being. I'm also not in the mood to knit baby things, mostly because little Elliotte has enough stuff for the time being. I'm also not sure the "girl" likes hand knits, she never said.

So I started going through some of my leftover wools to see what I needed to clear out. Since I hate throwing anything out I'm knitting some bowls to be felted.

I have one finished and a second started. I probably have enough yarn hanging around to do a dozen so that's what I'm going to do. I do find it bizarre to use 10 mm needles after using 2 mm for socks. They seem so huge and clumsy but the knitting goes a lot faster.

In the spirit of the above heading, I won't be felting them until I have at least six. I hate to waste hot water...

wow bravo rositta, i want to try felting, i have been putting the bowls off because i'd have to felt on the gas "stove", etc. i suppose you would too? (the hot water remark. i had read your blog yesterday, ALL of it and i feel that i know you *smiles. i have knit three items from that oneSkein book already and posted on the common blog under Zaz.
i have my own blog too. go ahead and check it please. i so love your two mugs, making 3 dozen a day is like a record or what?! i wish i could buy one with all just blue on white. do you make those off a mold or by wheel? i took pottery with a son of a tiles' maker friend at the academy of arts where i had taken my diploma, years afterwards, i made bowl after bowl, had read somewhere about how the chinese potters can spend their whole life perfecting that same shape of bowl.
i live in paris in an appartment, i am french, and don't have access to a kiln not to a wheel... i design clothes. had my exhibition, so it was interesting reading about yours.
amicalement, Zaz

Thats a great idea for left-over yarn. I'll have to try that when I get some energy to sort through all my leftovers. Are you going to make them all the same size?

Hi Zaz, the mugs are all thrown on the wheel. I hope to get the studio operational some time this summer. Thanks for stopping by.

Amanda Cathleen, just a few more days and I'll be ready to felt. I started working on a messenger bag just for a change of pace and that takes longer.

Jan, I'm doing two different sizes with whatever wool yarn is in my leftover bag. The color combo's should be interesting.
